Energizing our commitment to the Monarch Butterfly

Portada Monarca

We received the MOMA Hope statuette symbolizing our efforts to protect the monarch butterfly.

On February 5th, we held the MOMA Hope statuette award ceremony at the Viakable Auditorium. This statuette, crafted by Mexican artisans in collaboration with artist Rich Arnauda, recognizes our contributions to the preservation of the monarch butterfly.

David Eaton, Director of Business Development at CPKC and social activist with the Rotary Club, visited our facilities to present the award and speak about the MOMA project (the name means “mother butterfly” in the Purépecha language). During his speech, he highlighted Viakable and Xignux’s involvement in protecting this vital pollinator species, which is currently endangered.

This initiative brings together communities, businesses, and organizations across Canada, the United States and Mexico. Over the past three years, we have supported this cause by making contributions with the help of our energizers, as well as Viakable’s donations. This helped carry out reforestation efforts. Together, we have successfully planted 140,000 trees.

In his remarks, Patricio Murga, Viakable’s Director of Human Resources, emphasized that the statue symbolizes our commitment to environmental and social responsibility.

Together, we continue building a more sustainable future.
